New Technologies Slash Diesel Emissions Treatment Costs

Revolutionary waste oil burner, low-cost particulate filter

Munising, MI - By the end of this decade (2010) all diesel engines must be equipped with expensive exhaust treatment systems in order to comply with regional and international emissions mandates. Projected prices for the hardware are between $4,000 and $5,000 USD per vehicle, imposing up to 5% increase in both fuel consumption and costs on customers.

PNGinc, a small company in Michigan, has developed a revolutionary burner with ultra-clean emissions when burning heavy waste oils. With the burner installed as a regenerative burner in diesel exhaust soot traps, waste oils are used as fuel to burn off the carbon, renewing the filter.

Fuel savings derived from the use of this innovative burner are impressive. Owners/operators of any diesel equipment - from trucks, trains and ships to power generators - will save up to 5% of their operational costs.

And in an effort to reduce the capital cost of emissions equipment, the company has also designed a very low-cost particulate filter which will cut soot trap manufacturing costs in half.

Other applications for the new burner include coal-burning power plants, waste/renewable oil-to-electricity systems, and alternative powerplants for all types of vehicles.

PNGinc is working to deliver breakthrough product solutions to global markets. With over 30 years of experience in design, development and prototyping of advanced vehicles & world-shaping energy systems, the company is an uncontested global leader in sustainable growth technologies.
