Phoenix First Nations Energy Demonstration Program

Energy independence, economic diversification, power production partnership

Munising, MI – PNGinc unveiled its Phoenix First Nations Energy Demonstration Program today, as global oil prices continued to escalate. The new program, which will showcase the company's Phoenix UCB ultra-clean burner technology, is aimed at providing low-cost village heat, electrical power and sustainable industry in remote areas.

The company has developed a low-cost disc turbine & an ultra-clean burner that can be used to produce on-site electrical power and heat from heavy waste oils. In addition to slashing fuel costs, this ultra-clean waste-oil-to-electricity project would be ideal for First Nations economic diversification programs.

"Our vision is to create new jobs by setting up a village collection & processing center for used oil, which will be used by each home to generate its own heat & electrical power", said PNGinc's executive VP Pam Rieli. "Local individuals could truck in the recycled oil & run the processing center, as well as assemble & install our turbo-generator systems."

PNGinc plans to supply consulting, training and technology know-how to communities that provide facilities and project funding. The same equipment can burn multiple fuels such as liquids from biomass, or plant oils. Opportunities also exist for using the co-generators to produce hydrogen for sale to global fuel cell markets.

After each demonstration project is successfully concluded, First Nations groups may consider partnering with the company to manufacture these systems locally & sell them to other communities.
