Release Date: July 4, 2006 Project Global Energy FreedomPNGinc releases first in CD series enabling personal power production using their all-fuel Tesla turbines
PNGinc's CEO Ken Rieli never tires of pointing out the obvious, "The problem with the world is not poverty but run-away greed of the rich and would-be-rich." His approach is to decentralize utilities – all the way down to the poorest village. In 2005, his company decided to do something to correct this imbalance. Thus began Project Global Energy Freedom. The project centers around dissemination of technical knowledge and detailed construction plans on a series of compact disks (CD's). The company's aim is to empower the grassroots level with both energy self-sufficiency and real manufacturing capability. On July 4th, the first in the CD series was released. The "Experimenter's 4.5" DIY Tesla Turbine Project CD" contains detailed plans, drawings, photos & CAD files used for building an industrial-quality Tesla disc turbine using small shop tools. Designed for use in solar-thermal turbogenerators and other steam power applications, the Experimenter's 4.5-inch Tesla Turbine™ is capable of providing very basic home-level electrical needs. All-fuel capable, the century-old disk turbine is the only engine able to operate in four modes: Brayton, Carnot, Otto and Pulsed Detonation combustion cycles. Lower-cost of manufacturing, greater power-per-pound ratio, high reliability and low maintenance distinguish this engine from other contenders in the solar thermal & biomass energy arenas. Disk turbines are well known for their ease of construction compared with other engine types. However, designing for small-scale manufacturing involves an unrelenting focus on construction techniques that can be duplicated by SME's (small-medium enterprises) in small machine shops around the world, using common materials & industry standard parts. Rieli selected his 4.5-inch model in order to provide a lower cost yet robust engine. PNGinc specializes in low-cost turbine-related solutions and systems designs based on the Triangle of Energy Life: a balanced mix of universal energy sources – Sun, Wind and Fire. A number of follow-on CD's are planned that will further increase the global capacity for building complete renewable energy systems based on PNGinc's Sun-Wind-Fire strategy. Topics include solar boilers, waste oil boilers, wind turbines and closed-loop turbine systems.
